Photoshop

This was a challenging project for me. I didn't really know how to use adobe photo shop that well so i got really confused on what to do, but at the end i kid of got how to use it. I wasn't that good at using it but i tried to. We used the idea of Andy Warhol and his art work of Marilyn Monroe. It is a very beautiful piece of art and i like how he made it different every time. I used Micheal Jackson and i tried my best to do the pictures. I did Masking, the Word, and more. Adobe photo shop is a challenging document for me. I haven't really used it before so i was kind of lost, but i tried my best and i think did pretty well. I am happy with what i did, but if i could have done this project over, i would have done it better if i actually knew how to use the program properly so i was not very confused, but i am still happy with my end result of the project and i feel that i did very well.

Word Art

This is my Word Art Design. I choose to use the word Music and to do that i used music notes. I also added some musical instruments, so that you have the picture in your head what word it would be. This was a challenging project for me, but i am really proud of my self. I found it challenging, because it was really hard to draw the saxophone, clarinet, and trumpet and try to make it look real. I think that i did a really great job with this project, and it turned out really well too. While I was doing this project, i learned how to shade things to make them look real, try to draw what you see as accurately and neatly as possible, and also that with a simple word, you can make it a drawing with the items that are related to the word and also try to make them shaped as the letters. I am really proud of my end result in this project and i worked really hard on it. I don't know what i would change if i could do the project over because i tried my personal best and did really well. I am very happy that we got to do this project, because it was a way of learning how just a word can become a beautiful piece of art!!

This is my bag design. When we were making this, first we had to sketch our bag. Then we went over the sketch with a sharpy. After that we had to make the tessellations. To make Tessellations, you will have to take a small square piece of paper. Then you fond it in half the hot dog way, and then fold it in half again so that there are 4 squares. Then on one square you will have to make some random design by just wavy lines with curly lines, with straight line, and shapes. Then when you have got a design on one square, we went to the light box, and traced the same design on the other 3 boxes. After we did that, we took our bag and started to trace our tessellation designs on the bad. We also needed to put our name on the bag some where just for our logo. After we finished with that, we colored and designed the bag the way we wanted to and all we had to do then was to just cut out the bag and past it on a colored piece of paper. I learned that you can make designs with just some lines and shapes, and at the end when you are finished you will have a beautiful design. If i was allowed to do this assignment over, i would of be more careful and not rush things so that i would not mess up on it. I really enjoyed doing my bag and making it colorful and i am proud of the result!!

Tesselations

In this project, we were working with Tessellations. Tessellations is when you have one design and you just repeat it over and over. The patterns that i make are all lines and shapes. All the lines that you put needs to be connecting the the sides of the paper, so that you could repeat it. I took a small piece of paper and folded it so that there were 4 boxes. Then you make your design on one of the boxes. Then we had to go to the light box so that we could trace the exact same design on the other 3 boxes.
I used HUBRE in my Tessellations. The Harmony that i used was the way that i connected the ends of my paper with a design and that made the designs look good when they were connected and put together.

Patterns

These are my patterns that I have created. We used graph paper and created patterns with different colors and the boxes on the paper. I made different designs in each box and i divided the paper into different sections and i did different designs in those sections. I enjoyed doing this, because we could experiment on different designs that we haven't even thought of doing and they would most probably turn out really well in the end. If I could do it again, I would try and do designs that are not every day designs but something different than every day designs!!

All of these panels are line deigns. We started to make line designs with straight and curved lines. The first panel is a straight line design, the second panel is curved line designs and the third panel is a collage of straight and curved line designs. For all of the designs, i just started to put random lines and shapes everywhere on the page and then at the end i got a great design. While i was doing the designs, we had to always remember about HURBE. HURBE is the main idea of design, and because of HURBE all of the designs turned out well. During this, i learned that if you keep HURBE in mind, your designs will turn out well.
If I had to redo this assignment, i weould redo panel one, because that was the first panel that i did and i didnt really think about HURBE as much as i did for panel two and panel three.
While i was working on this assignment, i had mixed feelings. At some point i felt like i had done something terrible and at another i am very proud of the design that i had made.
I am very happy and very proud of my designs!!!!

Design Art is all about HURBE... HURBE is how you would evaluate you art work. HURBE stands for:

Harmony - means that the art work is all working together

Unity - means that the art work is tied together

Rhythm - means that the art work there is repetition and so it is balance

Balance - means that the art work is tilting to the side. There is an equal amount of colors on each side

Emphasis - means that when you are looking at art work, what catches your eye first

So what we did was that, we had to do like 3 designs on paper... the first one was only with straight lines, the second one was with only curved lines, and the last one was a combination of both, but it was a sculpture. We had to make a sculpture out of paper, that could stand up. it needed to be at least 6 inches high.

I enjoyed this project, because you just needed to experiment. You didn't need to have a picture in your head of anything. All you needed to do was to just draw like lines on a piece of paper and see how it turns out in the end. But one thing that you shouldn't forget while we were doing the project was HURBE..
